now i lay me down to sleep...

that is typically what i hear as i enter kate's room at night to tuck her in. but not tonight.
"mom" she said
"my nose feels like a turkey full of stuffing..."
a momentary pause and then i begin to chuckle.
"do you know what the stuffing is mom?" she says...
before i could answer she bursts out "BOOGERS"

we both laugh hysterically and i tell her that is an interesting analogy.
"what is an anology she asks..."

here's one for all the grands...

do you need a REASON to party?

not this guy!
that is my swiffer duster he's having fun with there.
who knew?

if i were 100 years old ~

if i were 100 years old i would see my grand kids.
my how our little girl has grown. today kate and her classmates celebrated the 100th day of school at oakley. fortunately those first two weeks of sleepless nights and the gallons of tears shed by both she and i are distant memory.
having just had my mom here to visit i actaully strated to cry when kate brought this home today. i was very touched by the sentiment and impressed by person she continues to become. frightens me to think that i'll be long gone by that time.
congratulations kater -- keep up the great work!

lucky dog!

no doubt about it -- our pooch is one of a kind.
he is loved and adored by us all. even pete.

don't waste your time!

by far the WORST movie pete and i have seen in years. based on the cast we thought it had a pretty good shot of being decent. we found ourselves laughing out loud at the pathetic dialog and called it quits after about 25 minutes. and for the record we should have turned it off long before that.

no time to post. too busy playing!

my mom arrived on friday. having so much fun we haven't had much time to blog. kids are in heaven. becoming spoiled by all of the time they've had to share with all of the "grands" this winter. we sure are lucky. LIFE IS GOOD!

he's here!

andrew warren cummings has arrived!
born at 11:26 today, mom and baby are both doing well.
just a bit tired as he had them up all night.
arriving a couple of weeks early
he weighed in at 7 pounds 4 ounces and is 19 3/4 inches long.
i'll head over tomorrow morning to meet him
and give that amazing mother of his a big hug.
congratulations melanie and jeff - we love you all!

i could not resist -

i stole this picture from my sister-in-law's website. these are our nieces ella and molly. part of the nason gang from maine. two of most beautiful children i know. those smiles make me feel all warm and fuzzy on this cold day here in asheville. wish we were closer!

together at last!!!

announcing the guldberg family!!!
camryn collette
was born last thursday and earlier today she officially joined melissa, judd and aj at their home outside chicago.
what a lucky little girl she is.
we'll look forward to meeting soon.
we love you all!

sweet success ~

in celebration of a glorious new life that has recently entered the world i wanted to make something. i am proud to announce that last night, with lots of help from my gal pal i successfully constructed my first baby blanket. strangely it was a very exciting process. getting to know the machine and slowly increasing my stitching speed...
i could become a junky ~

we're staying the course ~

12 days in and 19 to go - the roes are holding strong.
in just 2 weeks there has been noticeable savings. we've saved an amazing amount by not dining out and by cutting out all additional babysitting for adult extra-curricular activities. the wine and beer rations are starting to dwindle and i think that may be a bit uncomfortable when they become completely depleted. fortunately we have been blessed with generous dinner guests (thanks meme and gaw & dan and erin) whom have come bearing gifts.
i am just about out of one of my facial products. will probably run out mid week. if this would have been the case last month i am sure i would have run to the department store by now and bought a replacement along with the latest and greatest new product that the make-up girl seduced me with. just have to decide if exfolliant is an essential or a luxury. thoughts?
i did spot something a bit concerning in the garbage. an empty "to-go" container from earth fare as well as an empty bag of gourmet potato chips in the garage garbage can...

what do YOU do late at night?

i decopage...
frightening huh?
just a little something i made for trey's room.
watch out mom - you may be getting one next.

they're here -- they're HERE!!!

not exactly the home away from home they had hoped for...
OH - we'll make it up to them some how!
meme and gaw stopped over this afternoon to say a quick hello. poor trey was so sad he didn't want to see them leave. he has affectionately started calling pete sr. grand-pa-pa tootie-fruity. hey, it's better then gaw isn't it?

dance party at 100 village pointe lane ~
