making miss rhumphius proud...

ahhhh...miss rumphium, written and illustrated by the ever so talented barbara cooney. kate received this book from her aunt beth and uncle steve in 2004 and since that time i can't even begin to guess how many times we've enjoyed the beautiful pages of this book. it is a charming tale of a well traveled and inspired woman who set out to share her love and make the world a better place.
following in her footsteps we planted the first of many lupines last summer. this year kate and her buddy delighted in plating seeds all throughout the forest behind our house. and who knows how many more we'll plant in the coming years.
if you don't have this story i encourage you to buy a copy for your kiddos or for someone young that you love. what if we all tried to make this world just a little bit more beautiful? what if we all actually tried to make this world a better place? just think of the possibilities.
buy a copy - plant "the" seed!

we love this book too. And she will be totally ready for sliding rock. We went last summer in July and Gray went holding a hand. He loved it, but it was FREEZING! I just took pictures, lots of pictures!
